Balloon Flight B-29, 14 November 2013


Regular solar powered foil balloon flight.

Launch was difficult due to high wind. Balloon envelope and solar panels were damaged at first launch attempt and replaced for re-launch.

Balloon flew over France and burst at mid-day. One APRS report suggests that the balloon might have ditched into the sea overnight and re-launched itself in the morning. Night temperatures in payload bay reached -50C.


Payload weight - 11 grams.
Free lift - 4.1 grams.
Telemetry - 434.500 MHz, USB, DominoEX 16, vertical polarisation
